Lost Soul Aside Have Players Worried About The Game's Launch State

One of the saddest aspects of modern-day gaming is that most games on launch will have varying levels of performance issues, where some might experience minor frame drops while others are completely unplayable.

We saw this happen with Mafia: The Old Country and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers for some recent examples, and from the looks of things, Lost Soul Aside seems to sadly join in on this trend.

While the game isn't out yet, except for a few lucky players who got it early via physical copies. The developers have tweeted about a Day 1 patch that includes a variety of optimizations.

Lost Soul Aside Has Huge Day 1 Optimization Patch For Better Enhancements

In a recent X (formerly Twitter) post, the developers mentioned that the game will release in the coming days, and in order to get the "most refined experience possible", they recommend you install the Day 1 patch. Here are the things that this update includes:

Comprehensive performance optimizations and stability improvements for smoother gameplay
Visually enhanced effects for deeper immersion in the dazzling world of unknown powers
Overall audio refinements for a more immersive sound atmosphere
Final polishing and gameplay upgrades throughout for a complete adventure

While most players are happy about this announcement, there are other users who would have preferred the game fully patched on the disc. User Brice ACHAUME said "Everyone's OK with this, but I would have clearly preferred a full patched version on the disc without having to download anything. I hope the disc version is still playable and enjoyable, from start to finish, without patch."

Ideally, it would have been better if v1.0 had all of the above enhancements mentioned in their tweet. However, as only a few people have gotten their hands on the game, it is difficult to comment on how bad the performance issues are.

But on the brighter side, it is good that the developers are aware of such problems existing and are trying their best for players to get the most optimal experience that they can deliver, even if it is via updates. Lost Soul Aside will be available on 29th August 2025 on PC and PS5.
